Firefly

Been watching Jeff's on DVD - surprisingly good show that got cancelled about halfway through the first season. The DVD set includes three episodes that were never aired. I'm diggin' it.

My Week

Put in 60 hours at work this week. Ouch.

Have I mentioned how a lot of the employees now hate me? Seems they've gotten away with stuff for so long, that they can't handle it when someone comes along and tells them to do it the right way. Or they just don't like change. I've gotten both the "don't tell me how to do my job!" argument (sorry, it's my job to make sure yours is done right) and "the other managers didn't make us do this" one (am I the other managers? didn't think so).

The New Job

Finished department manager training/orientation last week - what a waste of time that was. I also question the wisdom of making people commute to Pentagon Row (a block from the Pentagon) and then letting them out at 5 o'clock every night. Took me two hours to get home, most nights. At least The Car didn't act up any more.

I've been back for two days now - we start 12-hour shifts today, until we can get some staff in. *sigh*
